Leominster is the latest town in a long list of failed attempts to bring horse racing to local communities by Baystate Racing LLC. and Richard Fields or other syndications with eerily similar connections and players. Since 2017, eight (8) towns and one (1) city have fought off these bids to occupy communities with false promises. For Baystate LLC and Richard Fields, three (3) towns and one (1) city have already rejected this “Trojan Horse” of a deal. Leominster is now the next target of the same old playbook. The various failed attempts to insert racetrack projects across Massachusetts, including:

Every single time, residents and officials rejected them because of shady dealings, lack of transparency, or environmental concerns. Now they’ve landed in Leominster, hoping this time no one will notice the pattern.
