This new site:

• Uses the same imagery and branding as an astroturf Facebook group already flagged for impersonation tactics.
• Mimics language, structure, and even the footer messaging of this site.
• Offers no new documentation or independent analysis—just recycled talking points.

So, let’s take their claims at face value—and check them against reality.

CLAIM: “The Fairgrounds will bring 350+ jobs to Leominster.”

Reality: Where’s the data?

There’s no independent jobs report available. No breakdown of:

• What percentage are full-time vs. part-time
• How many jobs will go to Leominster residents
• Whether any are career-sustaining positions vs. seasonal work

And no mention that many of these “jobs” would likely exist only during a short build phase—NOT long-term.

CLAIM: “Leominster could see $1 million a year in revenue.”

Reality: This number is pure speculation. And even if it were true and those funds were dispersed directly to every resident in Leominster in the form of a check (which it wouldn’t be) that’s still less than a cup of coffee per resident per year so where’s the economic impact? There isn’t one – not for residents at least.

They admit no Host Community Agreement has even been presented to the City Council.

Comparing this project to casinos in Everett or Springfield is misleading. Those are massive, state-regulated gaming facilities in urban areas—not rural racetracks propped on top of an old toxic dump.

Show us the documents. Not PR guesses.

Reality: This is a dangerous oversimplification.

Yes, the landfill is a long-term concern. But so far, no DEP-backed remediation plan has been publicly shared. No clear agreement on who is liable for contamination events. No mention of how oversight would be enforced or what happens if the developer walks away.

This isn’t a gift. It’s a potential liability transfer—with no safety net — something the developers marketing team appears to relish in trying to capitalize on as a key message stating the 30-year commitment to monitor and mitigate the landfill by the city “ends in two years” and then residents are screwed – which is simply NOT true – it’s just more intimidation tactics and fearmongering.

CLAIM: “Made by the silent majority of Leominster.”

Reality: Let’s be honest.

This website wasn’t built by a groundswell of Leominster citizens. It was launched by the same small group that:

• Created a fake “Michael Preston” profile to troll opposition voices
• Deleted conflicting comments from their Facebook page
• Admitted, just days ago, that the project is still in “early steps” with no confirmed plan

“Silent majority”? Or coordinated PR push?
